There is no single Indian “approved foreign universities” list that replaces your own checks. Confirm the institution with the host country’s education authority, and for academic equivalence in India see the Association of Indian Universities — then confirm any professional licence with the Indian regulator for that field.
University identity is not the same as an Indian licence
A university can be genuine in its own country and still not meet the conditions of an Indian professional regulator. Those are different checks.
For many academic purposes, the Association of Indian Universities publishes evaluation information. For medicine, nursing, law, architecture and similar fields, the relevant Indian council’s rules decide whether the qualification can be used here.
